Jarrett Posner, Chairman of the Board, Principal

Jarrett Posner is a founding partner and serves as the Chairman of the Board for BMC Investments and its affiliate BLDG Management. Mr. Posner has a successful track record as an owner, operator, and developer of residential and commercial real estate. He is also a co-managing partner of Posner Group which is engaged in real estate investment and development activities in South Florida. Based in New York City, Mr. Posner has partnered on the development of several luxury condominium projects with the most recent currently under construction in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood. Jarrett’s real estate holdings also include several retail properties across New York City. Previously, Mr. Posner spent over 10 years serving as one of two senior principals of Argonaut Capital Management, a global-macro hedge fund located in New York City. Jarrett received a B.A in Economics from Brown University.


Matthew Joblon – Principal - Chief Executive Officer

Matt Joblon is a founding partner and serves as Chief Executive Officer for BMC Investments. Prior to joining BMC, Mr. Joblon was Managing Director of Friedman Equities, LLC, for eight years, where he sourced, structured and executed more than $200 million of real estate transactions throughout the United State. Mr. Joblon has extensive experience in negotiating equity joint venture structures, first deed of trust and mezzanine debt structures, hotel management and technical service agreements, land and asset purchase and sale agreements, and managing large teams during the entitlement, planning, and construction stages of each project. Mr. Joblon received a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship and Real Estate Finance from Babson College and, to date, has more than $650 million in real estate transaction experience.


Max Bresner – Chief Operating Officer– Principal

Max Bresner is a partner and serves as Chief Operating Officer for BMC Investments. Prior to joining BMC, Mr. Bresner was a Development Manager and Asset Manager for Fisher Brothers where he was responsible for overseeing development and construction for mixed-use residential projects in New York City. In this role, he oversaw the acquisition, disposition and development of real estate assets in excess of $200 million. These transactions included, among others, the acquisition and development of Warren Lofts in TriBeca, the disposition of mezzanine debt collateralized by the Essex House Hotel on Central Park South, and the purchase at bankruptcy auction of 101 West 87th Street on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Prior to Fisher Brothers, Mr. Bresner worked for White Acre Equities where he successfully launched a New York City based student housing organization. He has extensive experience underwriting, structuring and overseeing all range of real estate transactions across a wide spectrum of asset types and classes. Mr. Bresner grew up in the suburbs of New York City and earned a B.S. in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Denver.


Brian Cason – Chief Investment Officer, Principal

In his role as Chief Investment Officer, Brian Cason is involved in all investing activities of BMC Investments. Brian focuses on BMC’s development activities, multifamily acquisitions, and BMC’s new investment initiatives including entry into new asset classes. Brian is also a member of the investment team of Posner Group, based in New York City. Prior to joining BMC Investments and Posner Group, Mr. Cason served in acquisitions roles at DRA Advisors working on multifamily, office, and retail transactions, including work with Centerbridge Partners on their distressed real estate debt investment platform. Mr. Cason’s experience includes transactions spanning all major asset classes, throughout the capital stack with a focus on opportunistic and value-add equity investments. At BMC, Mr. Cason specializes in optimizing investment structures to achieve investment objectives, creating alignment and mitigating downside risk. He also focuses on maximizing the potential of BMC’s development projects through a hands-on approach to programming, design, and market positioning strategy from initial conceptualization through operations. Mr. Cason holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from University of California at Berkeley, a Masters in Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.


Darren Everett – President of Property Management, Principal

Darren Everett serves as President of BMC Investment's property management affiliate, BLDG Management, and is a founding partner of BMC Investments. Prior to founding BMC, Mr. Everett was Vice President of Operations for the Alpert Companies. In his role at Alpert, he managed planning, entitlement and property management activities for two large scale master-planned communities. These communities included over 7,500 acres of land, 14,000 residential units, and 700 acres of commercial/mixed-use space. Mr. Everett received his Master's degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Denver. Mr. Everett is a licensed Real Estate broker in the State of Colorado, a LEED Accredited Professional and is an active member in the Urban Land Institute and numerous multifamily industry associations.


Ken Leeds – Director of Construction

Ken Leeds joined BMC Investments in 2016 as the Director of Construction. Throughout his forty-plus year career, Mr. Leeds has overseen the construction of assets valued at more than $1 Billion. Prior to joining the BMC team, Ken was the General Superintendent for PCL Construction from 2013 to 2016 overseeing the construction of multiple residential, mixed-use and commercial projects. Recent notable projects for Ken include: University of Colorado Hospital at Anschutz, The Leprino Building at Anschutz, Lion at Vail – mixed-use condo development and Moto a mixed-use multi-family development. His resume includes various co-location facilities, education and administration buildings, high-rise office projects and multiple healthcare facilities. Born in New York, NY, raised in Reno, NV and a former linebacker for Boise State Ken is comfortable with tackling projects on and off of the construction site. An avid Yogi, skier and backpacker Ken enjoys time with his wife Rindy, their three children and three grandchildren.


Chris Raftery – Director of Construction

Chris Raftery serves as the Director of Construction for BMC Investments. His 40-year background in the development, construction and management of complex projects spanning all major asset types including residential, office, hotel, retail, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing facilities totaling well over $2.5 billion in total cost. Prior to joining BMC, Mr. Raftery managed the design, construction, and coordinated the workforces of more than a dozen large high-rise urban mixed-use projects. Each of these projects reached over 20 stories in height and totaled up to $1.1 billion in project cost. His extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials, combined with his ability to visualize the “big picture” and optimize budget and schedule performance, significantly impacts the successful delivery of large-scale projects. Along with a background of new construction, he has an extensive history in the renovation of occupied facilities, including those with high security and environmental standards. Mr. Raftery holds degrees in both Civil Engineering from Stanford University and Building Construction from the University of Washington. Mr. Raftery has also worked in real estate development and earned a certificate in commercial real estate (development and finance) from the University of Washington.


Adam Fenton – Vice President of Development

Adam Fenton serves as Vice President of Development for BMC Investments. Prior to joining BMC, Mr. Fenton was a Senior Development Manager for Holland Partner Group. For more than four years, Mr. Fenton oversaw the acquisition, design, financing and construction of several mixed-use and multifamily developments in Denver including Platform at Union Station and Union Denver.  He was also instrumental in bringing Whole Foods to downtown Denver for their new flagship store within the Union Station neighborhood.  During his time at Holland Mr. Fenton developed over 1,300 units and 100,000 square feet of retail.  Prior to his time at Holland, Mr. Fenton managed a portfolio of more than 5.5 million square feet with a value of $2 billion comprised of office, apartment, industrial and retail properties all located in the western United States as an Asset Manager for Principal Global Investors. Mr. Fenton received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Northern Iowa and has chaired multiple leadership committees for Denver Urban Land Institute.


Jeff Hoffman – Vice President of Development

Jeff Hoffman serves as Vice President of Development for BMC Investments. Mr. Hoffman, a Denver native, was previously a Development Associate at Trammell Crow Residential. At TCR, he managed the design, development, and construction of close to 900 multifamily units, including Alexan Sloan's Lake and Alexan Cherry Creek. Prior to joining TCR, Mr. Hoffman served as a Redevelopment Specialist at the Denver Urban Renewal Authority. At DURA, he managed tax increment financing assistance for multiple projects including the Marriott Renaissance Hotel, the Source marketplace, and the Aria mixed-use community. Mr. Hoffman also served as a Financial Associate at Rockwood Capital, a privately held real estate investment firm in San Francisco with over $6.5 billion of equity commitments. At Rockwood, he was responsible for West Coast acquisitions and asset management, primarily focusing on multifamily and retail investments. Mr. Hoffman began his professional career in Chicago at Bovis Lend Lease, a global construction management firm, where he worked on multiple high-rise condominium buildings totaling over $300 million in project costs. Mr. Hoffman received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University.


Josh Hansen – Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hansen is a Certified Public Accountant serving as the Corporate Controller of BMC Investments and its property management affiliate BLDG Management. Mr. Hansen began his career at Ernst & Young, a public accounting firm, working in the audit and transaction services divisions. After leaving Ernst & Young, he gained extensive real estate experience at a Denver-based private equity company, Alliance Commercial Partners, focusing primarily on value-add commercial real estate. Mr. Hansen had several responsibilities during his tenure there, including fund accounting, financial modeling, and asset management which entailed managing a $25 million office space portfolio in Florida and overseeing an $8 million multi-family condo conversion project in Dallas, Texas. Since Alliance, he has held several roles for Fortune 500 companies based in Colorado, including mergers and acquisition at Crop Production Services (CPS) and financial operations manager at Arrow Electronics. At Arrow, Mr. Hansen was the financial operations manager and responsible for a $1 billion division within Arrow. He attended the University of Denver, obtaining a B.S. in accounting and MBA with an emphasis in leadership, while playing for the DU basketball team. Mr. Hansen is a licensed broker in the State of Colorado and serves as a board member of the Denver Achievement Academy, which partnered with the Denver Athletic Club and dedicated to after school programs for at-risk youth.


Hailey Thiel – Director of Business Services

Hailey Thiel serves as the Director of Business Services for BMC Investments and its property management affiliate BLDG Management. Her career began with an acquisition firm based in Denver where she was responsible for managing the implementation of all corporate standards across a growing portfolio of Fixed Base Operators. She went on to support a range of local and national clients for Staubach Retail and Jones Lang LaSalle. There she managed real estate portfolios and lead project teams to achieve optimal and timely results for the organizations’ changing needs. Ms. Thiel is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives for BMC Investments and BLDG Management and oversees the Human Resources, Marketing and Philanthropy for both entities. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Colorado, the managing broker for BLDG Management and a founding member of Women In Real Estate & Development (W.I.R.E.D). Ms. Thiel is active with a number of multifamily industry associations and sits on the board of Women of Enterprise for the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver to endow scholarships for young women interested in entering the industry.


Sam Levy – Senior Associate

Mr. Levy serves as Senior Associate for BMC Investments. Prior to joining BMC, Sam was an analyst at Amstar, where he was responsible for acquisitions and asset management of office, industrial, retail and multifamily properties within Amstar's U.S. portfolio, in addition to a large retail property in Montevideo, Uruguay. Most recently, Sam worked on the development and disposition of Verve, a multifamily property located in downtown Denver. Sam received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.


Shannon Ely – Project Manager

Shannon Ely serves as a Project Manager for BMC Investments and oversees renovation projects for BMC’s multi-family assets. Prior to joining BMC, Shannon worked as an asset manager for a rail road supply company where she gained valuable experience in commodity based sales and market valuation. Shannon is a Denver native and attended the University of Richmond where she dual majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Latin American and Iberian Studies.


Ashley Fuller – Property Accountant

Ashley Fuller serves as a Property Accountant for BLDG Management and has over six years of experience in real estate accounting. She began her career as a Senior Accountant with a property management company specializing in association and commercial management. Most recently, Ms. Fuller has worked as a Property Accountant for a nonprofit organization that assisted military veterans in receiving permanent housing. Ms. Fuller received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Regis University.


Benjamin Samuels – Analyst

Ben Samuels serves as Analyst for BMC Investments. He recently completed his master’s degree in Sustainable Real Estate Development at Tulane University. During this program, Mr. Samuels authored a report on public policy regarding large-scale blight remediation for the City of New Orleans. In addition, Ben provided acquisition and funding application support to Low Income Tax Credit developer Harmony Neighborhood Development, a non-profit organization based in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Samuels received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Tulane University and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
